Good italian food, if you aren't looking for anything fancy. Lots of TV's, so really, it's a great sports bar, and the food is sort of secondary to the cold beer. The service is a crap-shoot. Sometimes you get a great server - most often you get a decent server, and occasionally you get one who chats with her friends while your breadsticks sit in the window, or your beer is warming up on the bar. The lounge area is fun and great for groups. The dining area is kid friendly and accommodating.

Decent food, salad and pizza. The pasta sauce is on the sweet side, but tasty. The grilled pizza should be made a little thinner. Skip the bread and olive oil.

We had the Faro, it is as good as it gets. Our waitress was great. We had Kali. She was full of excitement and had a beautiful new ring on her finger. She kept our ice teas full and our salads were great. Thanks and congrats Kali!!!!

I love going to Ucellos for Sunday Footbal games. The bar has the NFL sports package with TV's everywhere, including a select few personal booth TV's. This is a big selling point and drawing factor for my Sunday Football needs. The food was ok and the service worse. Our server Jennifer, and then another time Emily, clearly were only focused on making money and turning tables, even though we were in the bar clearly ready to watch numerous games. we wanted to take our time and order several things throughout the duration of our visit. she was clearly annoyed and rarely checked back with us, leaving drinks empty for 10 minutes at a time. Ill go back for Sunday football, but it isn't somewhere I would go for a good meal and service.

My pasta was excellent but my wife's scallopini was beyond well done, bordering on burnt. Salad and bread was very good as well. Service was poor - waiting 10 minutes for silverware when my salad is already in front of me us unacceptable.

Our party of 10 arrived for dinner on Saturday night after a busy day of touring GVSU and the Art Prize during family weekend. We had called ahead so when we got there, we didn't wait long before the hostess seated us. We were seated and the waitress promptly took our drink order. Then we waited..and waited..and waited....waited some more. (This was a running theme the whole time!!) And its not like we could have a decent conversation while waiting because it was SOO loud in there!! Then we got our drinks and my mother in-law ordered some apps. After about a half hour, we received our apps and then the waitress took a LONG time to come back to take our dinner orders. I ordered the Southwest Salad with salmon. When it finally arrived, it was really good. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the seasoning was just delish!! the rest of the party ordered stuffed pizzas, pasta, and more salads. Everyone liked the food-Standard Italian. Recommended if you have time to wait.

My name is Andy White and I live in Lubbock, TX. My friend and myself passed through on our way back from a golf trip back to Texas. We watched the Dallas Cowboys have an amazing come back win. Corey and Chelsea took superr good care of us. We all had a great time!! If u guys come to Lubbock I also work at a sports bar called Jakes. We'd luv to return the favor! Ps. The calamari was yummy

Average meal. Server was great although I don't remember her name. We were looking for a good Italian restaurant and the desk clerk at the Marriott recommended it. I would have preferred a little higher quality.

Ucello's is a local favorite - and they seem to have many loyal followers (My friends swear by their Stromboli and pizza puffs). In my opinion, they are overrated. First off, the decor needs work - the interior is dark, stuffy, and seemingly confused. The restaurant looks like a nightmare child between a sports bar and a traditional Italian family restaurant, resulting in a confused (loud classical music playing over sports games on the TV?) and uninviting space (Restaurant: Impossible, anyone?). Second, the food is A-OK. I have tried their pizza and flat-breads, and they are decent. No complaints here. On one occasion, however, my friend ordered the signature Uccello's time out drink. It was disgusting. There was either too much triple sec, orange juice, or something that made it ridiculously bitter!

Friendly staff. A ton of choices for pizza, pasta, sandwiches, burgers and so many drink specials. Sports bar is fully stocked with lots of locals brews available. Big screen tv's always playing the hottest games. Overall, pizza is amazing and a must try.

Today we ventured into Uccellos to meet our family for lunch. The hostess was friendly and quickly helped us to our table making sure that we were at a table that we could easily see the Lions game. #GoLions! We quickly put in our drink order and then our lunch order. The waitress was friendly and prompt. However our food was not. Not only did we have to ask about our food after waiting for 40 minutes but many of our orders were incorrect. One salad came with buffalo chicken instead of grilled, one order had chips instead of fries and one meal just was downright not satisfactory. As we were wrapping up lunch the TV that was mid Lions game was turned to another channel at another patrons request without consulting our table. Overall a very subpar experience. Not sure I will be venturing here again!

I was here for a football event for my High school team and will say that the pizza is good but not the best I've tried. I really was expecting it to taste a lot better then what I experienced. Many people have said the pizza here is amazing but I don't quite find it too be that good.

Great experience this evening. We are new to the GR area and have never been here before. The atmosphere was great, and the restaurant was very clean. Our server, Mel, had great menu knowledge and made great suggestions. I had the sirloin special, the beef was cooked perfectly and flavored well. My wife had the alfredo and it was very fresh and tasty. We even opted for dessert, which is not something we normally do. Happy Hour specials and the steak dinner special made it very reasonable. I wish the salad had some cheese on it. We're not tomato or cucumber fans, so we just had dressed greens. Cheese or egg would be nice. But I'm splitting hairs. Overall a great time, and Mel was awesome! We will definitely be back!

I really love Uccelllos - especially the take out pizza deal on Monday nights! When my mom comes into town she always begs to go for a certain pasta dish too - don't discount this place - it's more than just a sports bar!

Atmosphere is kind of like a sports bar/Olive Garden combo. Similarly priced, dining room has a similar feel. No artistic license with presentation. Basic Italian food. Really should be 3.5 stars. Tap beers are $3 during happy hour!

Folks with food allergies be warned! Staff isn't very careful. My wife ordered a gluten free pizza here, which we usually never have a problem with at their Grandville location. Instead of the rice based dough they used normal dough making her sick. No attempts were made at helping or placating the situation. Eat at your own risk, or stick to the Grandville location.

Stopped here for lunch after a trip to the zoo. I had previously visited the lake michigan location and we had really enjoyed the lunch buffet so we thought we'd try it again. Well.....this location's food quality was not quite as good. Most of the food on the buffet tasted like it had been under a heat lamp for WAY too long. Pizza wasn't that great. I think we'll stick with the lake mi location in the future.

There's a front patio, a bar section, a dining room section, and I think a back patio or some kind of extra seating area... A lot of different seating options for your varied dining moods. My group of four chose the regular dining room that still had TVs present but wasn't as sports bar-like as the actual bar area. We started with bruschetta and then ordered a range of entrees including salads, pasta and chicken. We all enjoyed our food and the portion sizes were plentiful across the board. Service was very attentive during our meal. We were greeted by two managers who asked how the meal was, and if this was our first time at Uccello's (it was so we got a little bonus gift card/free dessert for a return visit). Our waitress was always back and forth checking on us and filling up waters. It was borderline too much attention, but I'd definitely take that over being ignored any day. I'd come back if/when in the area!

Well I have to do it. I've given them a pass for 2 years! I honestly think they are messing with me. This is NOT an exaggeration. I have probably ordered Deluxe Chips and Cheese 100 times. I drive a good distance to get them. Without fail, they forget something every single time. I've had this conversation at least a dozen times with managers. Tonight it was jalapeños. I order several meals at a time, so I can't dig through the 3 bags with various containers. I assume they will do their job. The food is good but I am beyond annoyed. This has been happening on a regular basis for 2 years. Moving on...anyone can make nachos.

Uccello's is a pretty good casual, laid-back dinner option for families. We had the deep dish pizza, which was definitely one toke over the line. NOT the kind of pizza I'd order more than once a year. We rather enjoyed the Margherita Dip but it could have used a few more pieces of bread. Prices were average, service was good. I liked the separation of the dining room and bar areas. I did not like having to walk past the smokers on our way in and out of the restaurant.

Some of the very worst service out there. Met here with friends after work one Friday night for dinner & drinks mostly due to how centrally located it is for all of us. There were 10 of us and the restaurant was pretty busy, though there were many servers on staff and the bar was less than half full. It took at least 20 minutes to get a drink every time any one of us ordered one- and a ridiculous amount of time for our server to come by and ask for our food orders, etc. Weak drinks, mediocre food at best. For sub-par food and NO ambiance, the service here is just another reason to never return. So many better places in GR for quality food/service/environment- regardless how centrally located this was for my friends to meet up.

If you are ever curious about how Midwesterns' like to dine, come to Uccello's. The average midwestern loves sports. Or is at least tolerant of sports being on in the background during meals and social gatherings. Uccello's has tv's everywhere. Even on the slightly quieter, more family friendly, mediterranean-themed dining room side, there is sports on. The bar side - duh - humungo wall size tv with sports playing non stop. We midwestern's like a homey, neighborhood bar and are willing to forgo decor and ambiance to get a drink special (actually that might be an American trait). On the casual bar side there is a large bar in the middle of the room, pool tables off to the side, Keno (Keno is totally a Michigan thing), complete with those 1970's swivel high chairs around the bar- the kind with the plastic padding. They do indeed have good drink specials. The average Midwestern loves a value almost as much as they love meat and carbs. Good thing Uccello's has a pasta and prime rib buffet available Fridays. All other entrees come with bread and/or soup and/or house salad. The majority of my chicken parmigiana, a half rack of ribs, and a pizza sub sandwich went in a take home box because we were already full from the calamari and the sides that came out first . Every portion is literally the size of my head. When I travel I'm embarrassed to ask for a side of ranch for my fries. or chicken, or pizza, or vegetables. Midwesterns love ranch. Don't be embarrassed to ask for a side of ranch here. Ranch is a midwestern's best friend- it goes on everything and that's ok with Uccello's. In case that wasn't enough value for you, they often run coupons, nightly entree and drink specials to entice you in. Midwestern's love a value and I'm the first to use a coupon when I can.

Somehow "lost" our reservation for 30 people and were no longer able to accommodate our group. No problem, Brann's was very happy to take of us and our $$$$. Ucellos won't be handling our next get together either.

I got a a large takeout pizza from this Uccello's recently and it was pretty good. The Grandville location is nice that it has a separate takeout entrance right from the kitchen so your pizza is hot. This pizza I had was good and their Mon-Thurs takeout deal is great.

Food was okay but not great. Service was poor. Waitress took forever to bring out our bill, tried to over charge us and was not attentive to drink refills. We will not go back. As a follow up, they did reach out to me because of this review. I do appreciate that.

DONT BOTHER!!!! Its really unfortunate a few terrible bartenders spoil the life of the bar!!!! I visited this establishment a few times while traveling for about a month doing business in the area. the first few times were fantastic with Megan,Melissa and Krista running the bar and serving the service bar. Friendly, pleasant, consistent and knowledgeable about the menue and recommending items. they made you feel welcome and had fun while working really hard. It was a pleasure to see how they got the job done with a smile. NOW The DISAPPOINTMENT! Tonight 6/12/14 was a whole new experience that I was not ready to accept or tolerate. I actually felt really bad for Mellisa (hope I'm correct) she was not being treated well by the other two bartenders. The guy was calling customers AHoles! No Lie! Amazing!!! didn't have anything to say at all, let alone serve the bar. The woman didnt acknowledge anything and truly didnt want to be there. She would get the receipt and put them in the drinks at the service bar. You dont fill a beer by putting the tap into the mug or glass. I'm sure if your customers knew they would never tolerate that!!! Bar tending 101 Really!! I could go on but now I know why the bar was empty tonight with this crew (NOT) serving customers. NEVER AGAIN and by the looks of things this establishment doesn't deserve to have the others that do an amazing job.

Uccello's has been a staple in my lunch routine, sports watching venue, and night time drinks with coworkers and friends for going on 9-10 years. The pizza is great, the lunch brunch is fantastic, big huge happy hour beers, and cute bartenders / waitresses, now what else could you ask for? I recently stopped in on my birthday visit to GR and had a couple drinks with friends. My drinks were reasonably priced and the bartender did have a heavy hand, which in my world, is a very good thing. The place was extremely busy which was expected for a Friday night, but not uncontrollably where we couldn't squeeze into a few bar stools. The smell in there made my stomach growl, its such a great place to meet and eat that if it wasn't already 1am, I would have gotten a meat lovers pizza for the road. Summer time is also wonderful here. There is a little patio which is on the west side of the building, so perfect for those afternoon cocktails. The place itself is huge. There is a bar area and a restaurant section for a more family style dining experience. The amount of TV's in this place is astounding. There are huge projection screens everywhere and smaller TV's scattered throughout. There are LCD's surrounding the bar, so no excuses for not watching the game. I honestly wish there was an Uccello's in Cleveland.

Uccello's was pretty slow on a recent Thursday night (Beltline location). In spite of that, the waitress was pretty neglectful, and the food took a very long time to arrive. We weren't in a big hurry, but when the food finally arrived, my husband's fettucini, lasagna, and chicken had that glazed over look that says "heat lamp!". My BIL was excited for us to try pizza puffs, but I found them bland and pretty unappealing, as did my dh. The menu had virtually nothing vegan on it. Even the minestrone had chicken broth in it. I ordered it anyway, and it was clearly not made in house. The carrots had that perfect square look to them and the soup was very salty a la canned soup. The only other thing I got was a baked potato. It was fine, as baked potatoes go. I'd go back only if someone else had chosen it as a restaurant.

Stopped in to try this place out and found it to be decent. Monday night about 6 and ate on the restaurant side of the place away from the sports bar, which wasn't very active but it was still early. Beer was very cold and half-price due to their 'Happy Hour', which was nice. Salad was just ok.....not bad but kind of lifeless. Chiabatta bread w/ oil was delicious while waiting for entree of chicken parmigiana. That, too, was excellent but spaghetti side pretty ordinary. Read reviews afterwards and saw lots of negatives, which i was happy i didn't experience. Amanda, the server, was very good & i'd give it another chance when traveling up thru GR

This is my second visit to Ucello's, great sports bar. They usually run some decent deals on beer and food. Food wasn't the best both times I've been here, but they got nice big tv screens. Service has been fine.

I grew up in Grand Rapids and had always enjoyed visiting Uccello's with friends after trips to Woodland Mall. Now, my motives for visiting are very simple: this is only bar in town that I have been able to find that consistently shows soccer games. My husband and I live out of state, but when we're visiting family and need to find coverage of a Manchester United match, Uccello's is our go-to place. I told this to the hostess already, but seriously, as long as they keep providing coverage, they'll maintain a stronghold on GR EPL and UEFA fans. No other sports bar (The Score, included) has been so awesome about accommodating this interest. And the food and drink specials are fabulous too. Kudos to you, Uccello's!

I've been to both locations - one for a rehearsal dinner, and once for lunch. The rehearsal dinner was actually a great experience. We had a side room, and it was buffet style. Very easy to deal with, and made it easy to mingle with the rest of the family / wedding party. The food was fine, doesn't stick out as either amazing or awful, just fine. The time I went for lunch, we had the "pizza puffs" appetizer, which was DELICIOUS. My meal wasn't that great of a follow up - I had some fish (whitefish I think?), and it was just OK. They must've soaked everything in butter because I felt a little ill afterwards (lactose intolerant, and I even took some lactaid!). I think it's probably those places they warn you about - worse for you than you expect! A friend I was with ordered their version of a calzone, but they accidentally made her a stuffed pizza. They gave her a "discount" off the stuffed pizza that made it only $1 more than the calzone price... Personally, I feel they should have given it to her for exactly the calzone price, it's not her fault you messed up! Yes, she got more food, but that's the price you pay for not having good communication amongst your staff. She wasn't upset, but I think it was a little off. All in all, I wouldn't run away if someone wanted to go here, but I wouldn't seek it out either.

Food and atmosphere was excellent. The food portions you receive for the price was unbeatable. Pizza and anything with the Sicilian precursor is guaranteed to be delicious. The size of the strawberry shortcake for dessert can be easily shared with four people. Great experience and great value.

Great late night specials but all the waitresses turn into massive Bs as if they don't want a tip just because we're not spending 20 dollars on a pizza. Sorry but your drafts are half off, do you not realize that I might end up drinking MORE, and spending MORE, and then leaving a massive tip because I'm drunk???? Or it's cool that you're gonna roll the dice with me on your attitude and think that I won't get mad when drunk and leave 0 tip. Pfff, or just walk out because you disappeared to flirt with your friends at the pool table.

A group of us went here for lunch the other day and it was pretty good. We all had the lunch buffet and there were plenty of options outside of just pizza. I noticed that when I went through the line both times that there really wasn't pizza being put out quick enough, but nobody seemed to mind. I enjoyed the baked chicken, which is hard to pull off on a buffet. It wasn't dried out at all, nice and juicy!

The food is great and the beer is better, they have a ton on tap, so you can always try something new. The also have great specials every night they have half off appetizers and drafts from 10-12 and from 1130-2 you can get 2 dollar breadsticks and 3 dollar pizzas. It's a great place to go hang out with friends watch some hockey and have a few beers. Our servers have always been friendly, but service can be slow. I'm sure it's due to it being so busy though as I normally go to watch sports events. Overall I really enjoy this place, and would recommend it to anyone. Much better then your typical bar food.

I attended a wedding this past weekend, and was in the party. Is it sad that the rehearsal dinner had better food than the actual catered wedding itself? My friend got married in Grand Rapids, and we went to Uccellos after the rehearsal for dinner. I was more than satisfied, the food there was fantastic. I can't speak enough about how good the pizza there was. I definitely want to find some time to go back in the future to try out some of the other Italian cuisine that I saw on some of the plates.

I've been here so many times I can't even count. This sports bar has gone through a lot of transformations (remodeling wise and management wise). The one thing that keep me coming back is the delicious food. The margherita dip, fettuccine Alfredo, signature pizza and other items are good for a sports bar atmosphere. The food alone is 5 stars. I run an alumni club and we have been coming to Uccellos for 10 years. The service is usually great, but making reservations for an alumni group and having tables ready for an event has been less than stellar in the last year. In fact, my group was kicked out of the reserved area in favor of another group and we were told we would get some appetizers the next time (four events since then, nothing ever happened.) The service is very good, always prompt and nice people.
(4)

This is a great place if you are looking to catch a sports event. I would say the best time to go is when they have appetizer and drink deals. I usually like to attend this place after 10 because of the deals they provide at that time. I am a fan of the pizza puffs but have tried many other dishes there that are okay. This isn't a place I would ideally take a date on. This is the type of place I would go after a sporting event with friends or to watch a game with casual friends.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Decent food, salad and pizza. The pasta sauce is on the sweet side, but tasty. The grilled pizza should be made a little thinner. Skip the bread and olive oil.

Average meal. Server was great although I don't remember her name. We were looking for a good Italian restaurant and the desk clerk at the Marriott recommended it. I would have preferred a little higher quality.

Drinks are reasonable, foods alright, but be patient with the staff...not the friendliest out there....disappointed.

(4)Colin C.

(1)Stephanie G.
I got a a large takeout pizza from this Uccello's recently and it was pretty good. The Grandville location is nice that it has a separate takeout entrance right from the kitchen so your pizza is hot. This pizza I had was good and their Mon-Thurs takeout deal is great.
(3)Dennis E.
Food was okay but not great. Service was poor. Waitress took forever to bring out our bill, tried to over charge us and was not attentive to drink refills. We will not go back. As a follow up, they did reach out to me because of this review. I do appreciate that.
(2)John D.
I have had the ribs and their pizza both were great, easy take out.
(4)Matthew D.
Great place for drinks and Pizza/pasta. They use the line "ohh that sauce" and although it sounds a bit gross, it's the sauce that makes the difference. Worth a visit!

(1)Chris M.
I've ate in twice and had great service both times. Order take out from here once or twice a month and never disappointed.

Food is quality but not cheap. First restaurant I have ever been to that charges for hot sauce. A bit of a turn off when paying considerable amount for dinner.
(2)Maurice F.
This is my second visit to Ucello's, great sports bar. They usually run some decent deals on beer and food. Food wasn't the best both times I've been here, but they got nice big tv screens. Service has been fine.
(3)Kelsey S.
(4)Sarah K.
This location cannot compare to the Lake Michigan Drive location. We have tried it three times and had bad service, mediocre food and left disappointed. Just stick with the other location.

(3)Melody H.
Food and atmosphere was excellent. The food portions you receive for the price was unbeatable. Pizza and anything with the Sicilian precursor is guaranteed to be delicious. The size of the strawberry shortcake for dessert can be easily shared with four people. Great experience and great value.
(5)Corry M.
(3)Nick A.
Great pizza and cold beer. This is becoming our go to spot. My mom said, "This is the best pizza ever"! My mom doesn't lie!
(5)Jenny W.
(4)Kylie H.
(4)Dan W.
food was out quick and service (jamie p) was outstanding. screens in sports lounge were bright and there was always something decent on. we'll go back again!
(5)Iowa H.
Great place to watch a University of Iowa game if you are in the Grand Rapids area. Watch out for unruly Michigan and Michigan State fans. Looking for more Iowa Natives to review this bar, though.
(4)Jen B.
Nice place to go with a group. We tend to stick to the less-kid-friendly bar area. Decent drink specials during games, and other nights of the week.
(4)Erica S.
(5)Kathryn B.
Been here twice and have had fantastic service each time. GVSU Students get a discount when you show ID. Perfect for a college budget! Perfect for grabbing some food and watching the game, or even a few drinks.
(5)Jack R.
Enjoyed a nice dinner here while playing Buzztime trivia. The bar is large and football shaped with tons of screens showing sports. Large menu selection, affordable prices. I had a stromboli which was quite good. Staff was very friendly and efficient.
(4)Caroline H.
(4)Derrick V.
